Aurigny and Blue Islands remain independent,  but will be co-operating in the post CV19 environment to provide more certainty and choice to islanders and passengers from mainland UK.  The co-operation agreement is subject to consultation with the relevant authorities and will be implemented in a phased approach and will commence on the Southampton route following the anticipated easing of travel restrictions in July 2021.

Looking ahead the two carriers plan is to harmonize schedules between Guernsey, Jersey, Exeter and Birmingham to offer same-day return services on certain days of the week, reintroducing services previously popular with islanders and inbound travellers alike. The agreement will further entail the carriers applying collective effort to rebuild flight frequencies between Guernsey and Southampton, intended to provide passengers with sustainable flight coverage on this important lifeline route, as well as the connection of the Aurigny and Blue Islands’ wider networks to provide flight options for the residents of Alderney, connecting in Guernsey through to Jersey.

The agreement does not cover pricing, promotion or customer care, which will all continue to be managed by each airline independently and leaving a healthy level of competitive tension in place.

Aurigny Assurance  

Changes to our Aurigny Assurance

We have been offering our Aurigny Assurance scheme throughout the pandemic to enable customers to book in confidence knowing that should they need to cancel for any reason they could do this and have a voucher for the full amount or move flights without paying an administration fee. This has applied to all bookings for any travel date after 12th March 2020, until 31st October 2022. As travel is now returning to normal and restrictions are easing, this will now remain in place for all bookings made before 21st February 2022, at which point the policy will only be applicable for new bookings if government restrictions change and directly impact a customer’s travel. For flights already booked and those booked before 21st February, our Aurigny Assurance will continue to cover you up to 31st October 2022. 

For those customers who are covered by the Assurance, credit voucher requests must be made at least 3 hours prior to departure. Additionally, no change of booking fees*  will apply for changes to travel up to 31st October 2022 (provided the change is made at least 3 hours before departure). Aurigny Assurance Vouchers are valid for 1 year from date of issue (travel date may be later) and may be used for any passenger on any Aurigny route.

* Any fare difference does have to be paid.

For those customers covered by our Assurance, changes for travel after 31st October 2022 will revert to the regular fare rules and change fees will apply to Light & Frequent flyer fares.

FREQUENT FLYER Points Fare

The Frequent Flyer points fare includes a hand baggage allowance of one piece with max dimensions of 55cm x 36cm x 20cm and one handbag or essential bag measuring 35cm x 25cm x 20cm. Maximum combined weight of hand baggage must not exceed 10kg on all direct routes except the Alderney routes.  

For Alderney to Guernsey or Southampton and connecting flights via Guernsey ;

1 piece with a maximum weight of 6kg and maximum dimensions 35x25x20cm to fit underneath the seat in front.

Hold Baggage

The Frequent flyer fare includes a hold baggage allowance of  up to 20kg (or 15kgs on direct Southampton/Alderney flights).

Seat Selection

Seating selection is not included, but can be prebooked by calling Aurigny reservations on 267267.

Please note that you must be physically capable of operating the emergency exit if seated in an emergency exit seat.

If seats are not selected in advance they will be automatically allocated at check-in, you may not be seated where you want or with others travelling with you.

Seats are subject to availability at time of selection.

Flight Changes

Changing flights on the same route incurs a £40 per flight/sector per person and is subject to points fare availability. Should you wish to change to a different route, there may also be a fare difference to pay. If no points fares are available you may upgrade to regular fares and pay the difference in cost.

Name Changes

Name changes are chargeable at the prevailing rates.

Refunds

Points fares are non-refundable.

You will not receive either a paper or separate e-ticket.  Your Itinerary will show the e-ticket number but you do not require anything other than your photo-ID to check-in.

Why does the fare sometimes increase if I use the Back button during my booking online?

The reservation system is designed to 'hold' your first choice of flights for a short period of time (approximately 30 minutes) to enable passengers sufficient time to complete the booking, and perhaps check other elements such as connecting flight times etc.  If, during this period, you step back to the beginning of the process or leave the booking window and open a new one then it is possible the flight will increase on the 'new' booking if the original fare is no longer available.

If you experience this you should close your browser session and retry in 30 minutes. Generally the seats will be available at the original fare quoted - however, please note that we cannot guarantee this as other passengers may also be booking the same flight.

DO THE NEW FARES APPLY TO FLIGHTS TO ALDERNEY ?

No, the new fares do not apply to flights to Alderney.  Passengers will continue to be able to travel with the existing hold baggage allowances. This is 20kg between Alderney-Guernsey and 15kg between Alderney-Southampton.

CAN I MIX AND MATCH FARE TYPES ON MY RETURN JOURNEY?

No, it's not possible to combine fare types on a trip unless you book 2 x one-way flights.

CAN I ADD A HOLD BAG TO MY BOOKING?

You can add extra hold baggage to LIGHT, SMART and FLEXI fare types during the booking process up to three hours before departure and up to three items in total per passenger. Items can be added to a single flight or to a leg of a return journey. Provided you have not checked in bags can easily be added to your booking online at Aurigny.com via the Manage section and they can also be added at the airport at an extra charge. Once you have added a hold bag to your booking the baggage fee is non refundable.

You cannot add extra bags on services to/from Alderney/Southampton or Alderney/Guernsey due the smaller aircraft size. Any excess carried will be subject to excess baggage charges.

CAN I ADD A BAG ONE WAY IF I HAVE A LIGHT FARE?

Yes, you can add a bag one way to your booking up to three hours before departure through Aurigny.com or our call centre 01481 267267, or later at the Airport. You will always save money by adding items online. Please note the added bag fee is non refundable.

HOW MUCH HAND BAGGAGE CAN I TAKE ON-BOARD WITH ME?

On most routes the hand baggage allowance is one piece with max dimensions of 55cm x 36cm x 20cm and one handbag or essentials bag measuring max 35cm x 25cm x 20cm. Maximum combined weight of hand baggage must not exceed 10kg.

On services to/from Alderney the hand baggage allowance is one piece with max dimensions of 35cm x 25cm x 20cm and maximum weight up to 6kg, this is due to the size of the aircraft operating this service.

Due to limited stowage space on board our aircraft, there will be times, on busy flights, when some hand baggage must be moved into the hold.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY UNIVERSAL HAND BAGGAGE DOES NOT FIT WITHIN THE AURIGNY HAND BAGGAGE GAUGE?

We understand that our baggage gauges are slightly smaller than some other airlines, this is due our aircraft baggage lockers being smaller than other airlines and to enable more customers to carry their baggage on board. If you have a SMART, Flexible or FLEXI fare and your hand baggage does not fit our gauge, provided it does not take you over your unused hold baggage allowance, we will take your bag at the check-desk or at the departure gate and load it into the aircraft hold for you to collect at the baggage carousel on arrival. This service will be free. If doing this causes your hold baggage allowance to be exceeded or you do not have any hold baggage allowance (LIGHT fare), then you will have to buy excess baggage allowances at the check-in desk, or pay the 'exceptional' baggage fee if you are at the departure gate. DO YOU STILL GIVE EXTRA HOLD BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE TO STUDENTS?

Yes, any Channel Island-based student travelling to and from their place of study in the UK at the beginning and end of each term who reserves a ticket (with a hold baggage allowance) will be given an extra allowance of 20kg on production of a valid student card. The additional 20kg will be accepted subject to space available. Please note that Student Baggage Allowances are not granted on FLEXI fares where the allowance is already 46kgs.

If you book a LIGHT fare and not add any hold baggage you will not be eligible for this student offer.

IF I AM LIABLE TO PAY ANY CHARGES AT THE DEPARTURE GATE DO YOU ACCEPT CASH AND CREDIT/DEBIT CARD?

We will only accept card payments at the departure gate. If you don’t have a card in your possession we can take a card payment by telephone.

WILL I BE ABLE TO TRAVEL WITH A BABY BUGGY ON THE LIGHT FARE FREE OF CHARGE?

Yes, all types of infant fares have an allowance of a carrycot or a collapsible small wheeled pushchair and a small bag containing a reasonable amount of food and drink for the flight. Infants will have no other baggage allowance.

I HAVE BOOKED A SMART FARE, HOWEVER I HAVE DECIDED TO TRAVEL HAND BAGGAGE ONLY. CAN I AMEND MY RESERVATION AND TRAVEL WITH A LIGHT FARE?

You cannot change your fare type once booked.

DOES AURIGNY STILL ACCEPT SPORTING GOODS AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS?

Yes, details of our policies can be found in the FAQ section of the website (Aurigny.com) and some types of sporting goods can be booked online at the time of making your reservation or afterwards through “Manage”. Please note that the number of musical instruments and sporting goods is limited on each flight.

DO I HAVE TO MAKE A SEAT SELECTION AT THE TIME OF MAKING MY RESERVATION, OR CAN I DO THIS AT CHECK-IN?

If you wish to select a specific seat/seats you will have to do this ahead of checking-in. You can either do this at the time of making your reservations or afterwards by visiting Aurigny.com and selecting ‘Manage’ where you can choose seats. Depending on your fare type there may be a charge for doing this. If you have not pre-selected seats you will automatically be assigned seats at check-in. No, pre-selected seats must be chosen for each individual flight. If you have a LIGHT fare you will have to pay the seat selection fee again to select the seat on your new flight. IF THERE IS MORE THAN ONE PERSON TRAVELLING WILL WE BE ABLE TO SIT TOGETHER IF WE DON’T PRE-BOOK OUR SEATS?

If you have not pre-selected seats our system will automatically assign your seats at check-in. We cannot guarantee these will be where you prefer to sit, or next to somebody travelling with you. We would recommend you pre-book your seats to guarantee you are sitting together on-board the aircraft.

WHAT ARE PRIORITY SEATS?

Our Priority Seating zones are situated closest to the aircraft doors for quick disembarkation.  Priority zones will receive inflight refreshment and duty-free services ahead of the rest of the aircraft.

HOW CAN I CHANGE MY BOOKING?

Provided you have not checked-in for your flight you can change your booking online by selecting “Manage” on our website.

DO I GET FREQUENT FLYER REWARD POINTS ON ALL THE NEW FARES OFFERED BY AURIGNY?

Yes, you will receive frequent flyer points on all the fares available on our website except fares purchased using reward points.

WHAT KIND OF FARE DO I RECEIVE USING MY FREQUENT FLYER REWARD POINTS?

Nothing changes for flights redeemed using your frequent flyer reward points. You will still receive a hold baggage allowance of 20kg, as well as your hand baggage allowance.

CAN I OBTAIN A REFUND IF I DO NOT TRAVEL BEFORE DEPARTURE?

You can only obtain a refund if you have booked a Flexible or FLEXI fare and cancel your flight a minimum of two hours before departure time providing you let us know you’re not travelling. Other fare types are non-refundable.

CAN I STILL PURCHASE A CONNECTING OR ENHANCED BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE?

No, these products have been replaced by the facility to purchase extra bags at lower cost.

If you miss your Aurigny flight, we can help you with our Rescue Fare, which can be bought for just £65 per adult.

It will to allow you to get onto the next available Aurigny flight, subject to space. The even better news is that children (17 years and under) travelling with adults on the same booking will be transferred for free.

The Rescue Fare is only available to passengers who arrive at the airport no more than two hours after their original departure time and is only valid on the day of departure. Any other amendments to your flight should be made using our normal change of booking process.

Travelling with Youths, Children and Infants

As a community-based airline, we’ll do everything we can to ensure families travel comfortably, safely and stress-free.

Inevitably, when travelling with a young family, you’ll have to carry extra luggage and equipment on your journey. So, we are pleased to announce as from the 5th November 2018  that every child, under 5, will be allowed two of the following items free of charge:

• Collapsible pushchair
• Collapsible Travel Cot
• Car seat

You will be able to travel to the departure gate with your pushchair/car seat where they will be placed into the aircraft hold. The items can then be collected from the baggage conveyor belt at your arrival airport.

Trunkies are also allowed as hand luggage

What are the age definitions of youths, children and infants?

On the date of travel:

Infants are under two years of age.

Children are from 2 years of age to the day before their 12th birthday.

Youths are from 12 years of age to the day before their 16th birthday.

Is there a minimum age that babies can travel?

We have no restrictions, but we recommend that you check with your doctor if your  baby is  under 4 weeks old.  On their second birthday, infants become children that require a seat on the aircraft for themselves. 

Does a baby get a luggage allowance too?

An accompanying adult passenger is permitted to carry onboard on their behalf: a carrycot or small wheeled collapsible buggy or a car seat and a reasonable amount of food and drink for the flight in a baby changing bag. Please note that carry on items must comply with our maximum hand luggage dimensions of 55cm x 36cm x 20cm. You may also check two of these items into the aircraft hold.

Can I use a car seat for my infant during the flight?

Unfortunately, there are no car seats approved for use on Aurigny aircraft.

How much milk or drink can you take on board for your baby/child

You are allowed for sufficient for your journey plus a little extra for delays, the security staff may ask you to taste the milk or drink whilst you are going through the security.

Are there special areas for families going through security?

Yes, at most UK airports you will find a separate entrance to the security area for families. As Guernsey Airport is small you will be using the same area as the other passengers but the security staff will assist you and your family.

We are travelling as a family can we all sit together onboard?

Yes, you are able to pre-book your seats at a fee to ensure you are all sat together. This can be done through our manage section on our website. If you do not pre-select your seats, we will try to seat you together but the positioning of other passengers who have already had their seats allocated seats may prevent us from doing this. Checking in early will increase your chances of sitting together. When travelling with a child or an infant emergency exit seats can not be allocated.

My child doesn’t like sitting still, can I get up and walk around?

We need the aisle space for our cabin crew on such a short flight, so opportunities to use the aisle can be limited.  We’d suggest a favourite toy or book may help to keep your child occupied.

I’m potty training my child, can I get access to a toilet in-flight?

Yes, you can, but only whilst the seat belt sign is switched off, it might be best to consider pull-ups and/or training mats just in case the seatbelt sign has to remain on. Onboard baby change facilities are very limited on our small aircraft.

Will the pressure hurt my child’s ears?

Both our E195 jet and the ATRs are pressured aircraft but if your child is congested this may cause some discomfort. Our Dornier aircraft operating services to Alderney are not pressurised but they fly at a level less likely to cause any discomfort. However, the initial climb may cause discomfort, so you may wish to consider a soother at this time.

Can I breast/bottle feed on board the flight?

Yes, 

At what point does my child need a passport?

Your child will not need a passport to travel to and from the UK with an adult until they are 16 years old provided they are travelling with you in the same booking. Children over 14yrs can travel on their own, and photo ID would then be required.

If we get to Gatwick early from a holiday, can we catch an earlier flight to Guernsey?

Yes, you can, we have a flight forward system where you can pay a fee per adult to change your flight to an earlier flight, children are exempt from this charge. This is subject to availability. Details of current fees can be found in the Charges and Fees

Can I sign my child up to the Frequent Flyer programme?

Yes, children over the age of two can be added to a household account.

Frequent Flyer

Unaccompanied children

Aurigny are not able to carry unaccompanied children (aged 0-13 years) on any services, apart from direct flights between Alderney-Guernsey where unaccompanied children from 8 year upwards can be accepted.

This is to ensure the safety and welfare of the travelling child in the event of a diversion and/or overnight stop. 

Youths aged 14 & 15

Youths aged 14 & 15 can travel unaccompanied and may be booked online. Each Youth must have his/her own photo ID. A parent/guardian must agree a disclaimer on our website acknowledging the young person can take care of themselves during any delays and disruption, including unexpected overnight diversions. Additionally the young passenger must have the unaccompanied young passenger consent form, fully completed, signed and attached to a copy of the parent/guardians passport, with them at all times.  If they do not they are not able to take care of themselves or do not have the consent form when travelling they will be refused carriage and no refund of their flight ticket will be made.  Youth's may not act as an escort for children 13 and under.

Musical instruments

Background: Musical instruments are normally carried in the holds of our aircraft. The securing of items in the cabin must comply with the requirements of EASA Regulations: CAT.OP.MPA.160 (a) and (b), specifically that only items that can be adequately and securely stowed should be taken in the cabin and items that might cause injury or damage, or obstruct aisles or exits if displaced are stowed so as to prevent movement. The carriage of items is also governed by CAA Regulations as set out in CAP 393. The following policy reflects these regulations and other requirements imposed on the airline and Aurigny’s own risk assessments.

We are happy to assist musicians where possible and recognise the importance of the instruments to their owners.

We will do our best to accommodate the needs of musicians, but it needs to be recognised that we have to adhere to various regulations, have certain operational constraints due to the types of aircraft we operate and also have to ensure that other customers are not inconvenienced or delayed though the carriage of musician’s instruments.

Below, we set out our policy and guidance that we hope will help you understand what we can/cannot do for you.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. The carriage of musical instruments in the cabin is always strictly at the Captain's discretion.

2. Musical instruments should always be properly packaged in a suitable protective and/or ideally hard-shelled container specifically designed for shipping such instruments.

3. The number of musical instruments that can be accommodated on each flight is limited.

4. When a stringed instrument is transported by air, it may be exposed to dramatic changes in temperature and pressure, which can cause the instrument’s headstocks to crack or snap off. To prevent possible damage, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the strings are loosened so that the tension is reduced.

5. Please ensure that your instruments are covered by adequate insurance. Instruments and their cases are carried on a Limited Release Basis and not covered by airline insurance.

Small musical instruments  Unfortunately, small instruments including violins and violas, cannot be carried in the cabin of the Dornier aircraft as there are no overhead lockers to store them.

Small musical instruments are permitted in the cabin or our other aircraft types as long as they do not exceed the maximum cabin bag size requirements (maximum 20 cm x 36 cm x 55 cm). Please note the instrument will be classed as one of your two pieces of cabin baggage.

Violins/Violas (and other similar shaped instruments)

These instruments may be permitted on-board Aurigny operated flights as cabin baggage as long as the instrument, including its case, doesn’t exceed 20cm x 36cm x 100cm. Carriage as cabin baggage is subject to available space in the overhead lockers. Please note the instrument will be classed as your larger piece of cabin baggage.

Medium sized instruments 

Medium-sized instruments such as Cellos, Guitars and Harps can usually be carried in the cabin provided an additional seat(s) is purchased, and they can be secured safely. They may be carried in the aircraft’s cabin provided that:

The instrument in its case must:

• Not be wider than the width of the passenger seat (approx. 48cms); it must not exceed 32kg in weight and the centre of mass must not be more than 30cm above seat cushion. It must also fit within the floor space between the seat and the seat in front (approx. 20cm). It must rest on the floor and not sit on top of the seat.

• Be positioned by the window and not an aisle seat, be properly secured by aircraft safety lap strap and not be in a seat in an emergency exit row.

On our ATR and Embraer jet aircraft, two additional seats can be purchased for wider instruments that do not fit within the width of one seat.

Due to the size and configuration of our Dornier aircraft, only one seat can be purchased for an instrument and you will be seated in row 9 and you must sit next to the instrument. It cannot be wider than the seat and the height must not exceed the size of the seat.

PLEASE NOTE: If the instrument does not fit in the cabin as outlined above, it will have to be placed in the hold of the aircraft and will be treated from that point on as checked baggage and returned to you at baggage reclaim.

For tall instruments: If the instrument extends significantly above the seat back and restricts the view of another passenger, the seats should be purchased in the back row of the aircraft. 

To make a booking:

• A seat can be purchased (via the call centre 01481 267267) for the instrument and the seat(s) booked must be dedicated for that item only. Hand baggage allowance is not allocated to an instrument in a seat.

• The passenger must travel on the same flight and in the adjacent seat, i.e. it is not possible for the instrument to not be accompanied;

   

  All other musical instruments

  For all other large musical instruments such as double bass, drum kits, etc. there is no option to purchase a seat as these instruments are too large and heavy. They will need to be prepared and properly packaged for carriage in the aircraft hold and checked in as per normal hold baggage.

  In order to meet Customs and Security requirements, instruments that have travelled in the hold will be returned to the passenger in the baggage reclaim area.

  These instruments will be carried on a standby basis only (i.e. only carried if there is space in the aircraft’s holds after all passenger’s normal baggage has been accommodated) and fees will apply (see section on fees). They are also carried on a limited release basis. This means, in the event of accidental damage in transit, the cost of the items will not be covered by the airline.

  PLEASE NOTE: Aurigny recommends you have adequate insurance to cover such items. Instruments and their cases are carried on a Limited Release Basis and not covered by airline insurance.

If your baggage fails to arrive on the carousel, you must report this to an Aurigny staff member or representative before leaving the Baggage Reclaim area. 

A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) will be completed by the staff member and you will receive a copy or file reference.  You will be given a contact number for further information, however, our staff or agents will contact you as and when they have information on your delayed bag and we would appreciate calls kept to a minimum. 

We will do all possible to locate and deliver your bag as quickly as possible within the Channel Islands or the UK. If you are travelling to an International destination, we will deliver your bag to your destination airport and deliver onwards where we can. However it may be necessary for you to arrange for the bag to be collected on arrival. 

Aurigny is a member of WorldTracer which is an online baggage tracing system. Using your PIR reference number and surname you can check the status of your missing baggage here -

Please note that Aurigny have NO agreements for through checked baggage. This means that if you check your bag in, for example at Dubai, and they offer to check your bag through to Guernsey you must refuse. If your bag has been checked through it will not make the connecting flight and is likely to be left as unclaimed baggage at the transit point (such as Gatwick or Manchester).  If your bag has been checked through to Guernsey we are unable to assist with reporting any missing bags that do not have an Aurigny baggage tag and you will be directed to the airline that checked it in for you.

If your through checked bag eventually arrives in Guernsey Aurigny reserve the right to charge a handling fee, and to charge for the baggage if this exceeds your Aurigny allowance. 

Please note - we are unable to accept responsibility for any "essential" items (medication, ID, tickets, money , keys, phones, laptops etc) in checked-in hold baggage. We advise passengers to take these items onboard in your hand luggage.

Any damage to your baggage must be reported to an Aurigny staff member before leaving the Baggage Reclaim area. A Property Irregularity Report (PIR) will be completed by the staff member and a copy given to the passenger. This does not constitute a claim. You will then be required to contact the airline, by email, within 7 days to make a claim for compensation. Scan and send a copy of the PIR, your bar-coded baggage sticker, proof of purchase, age and model of bag,  and a valuation for a repair or similar replacement item. Please also send any photo's taken of the damage. Send your claim to [email protected] .  If your claim is approved an amount will be deducted for depreciation.

Exemptions: Please note that Aurigny will not consider claims for damage to hold baggage as follows:

• Damage to any of the bag’s handles or wheels. Missing zip lockers or straps. 
• To clarify, we will not accept liability for damage to parts of the suitcase or bag that sit proud of it and can be easily damaged by an airport conveyor belt. 
• Nor will we consider claims for cosmetic damage i.e. scuffs, dents, marks or normal wear and tear that do not impact on the bag’s usability.

Please note - Limited Release items (including sporting goods, buggies, car seats etc.) will not be covered by the airline; Aurigny will not accept responsibility for accidental damage in transit. Any claim for compensation should be addressed to your insurance company.

Channel Island-based students travelling to and from their place of study in the UK at the beginning and end of each term may claim an additional one piece (max 20kgs) hold luggage concession, on production of a valid student card, and provided their ticket already includes a baggage allowance (either a Smart Fare, or a Light Fare with 1 bag purchased).   The additional 20kgs will only be accepted subject to space available.

Students without a hold baggage allowance are NOT entitled to a free 20 kgs and will be charged at the applicable rate.

NB. On flights between Southampton and Alderney the enhanced student luggage limit is 15kg and is carried subject to space and load.

Infants do not have a baggage allowance other than that accompanying passengers are permitted to carry on their behalf, however every child under 5 will be allowed two of the following items free of charge:

• Collapsible pushchair
• Collapsible Travel Cot
• Car seat

You will be able to travel to the departure gate with your pushchair/car seat where they will be placed into the aircraft hold. The items can then be collected from the baggage conveyor belt at your arrival airport.

Note: on occasion it has been noted that carrycots are checked-in, ostensibly for the use of the infant, but in fact are completely filled with other items (for example large stocks of food etc.) in this case the carrycot will be counted as normal checked baggage under the rules stated above.

Please note - Baby & Child Equipment (eg pushchairs, car seats etc) are Limited Release items and Aurigny will not accept responsibility for accidental damage in transit. Any claim for compensation should be addressed to your insurance company. 

Checked Baggage will, whenever possible, be carried on the same aircraft as you, unless we decide for safety, security or operational reasons to carry it on an alternative flight. If your Checked Baggage is carried on a subsequent flight we will deliver it to you, unless applicable law requires you to be present for customs clearance.

Through Checked Bags - please note that Aurigny do not have any agreements for checking baggage directly through from one flight to another, or from one airline to another. If your airline check-in offers you this service to connect with an Aurigny flight please decline as the baggage will NOT automatically be transferred to our flight and is likely to left in the baggage area as unclaimed baggage.

It is your responsibility to reclaim your baggage and check it in for your Aurigny flight. Aurigny are not liable for delivering baggage that has been incorrectly tagged through from another airport.

EasyJet / Gatwick Connects  if you have booked via the Worldwide by EasyJet website, or are using the Gatwick Connects service you need to reclaim your baggage and check it in for your next flight at the Gatwick Connects desk.

Rates (Effective April 2018)
Services between Guernsey and the UK and Grenoble £10.00 per kg. All other services £4 per Kg.

Please note - Excess luggage paid for at the airport on the day of travel will be carried subject to availability.

Cabin baggage allowances

All routes except between Alderney to/from Southampton and Alderney to/fromGuernsey:

2 pieces with a maximum combined weight of 10Kg. 1 piece with maximum dimensions of 55x36x20cm ** to fit in the overhead locker and 1 piece maximum 35x25x20cm to fit underneath the seat in front.  **If you are asked to check the size of your bag in the gauge ALL parts (including wheels and handles) must fit comfortably inside without being forced.

For Alderney to/from Southampton and Alderney to/fromGuernsey:

1 piece with a maximum weight of 6kg and maximum dimensions 35x25x20cm to fit underneath the seat in front.

If your hand baggage is too large then you will be required to check it in and this may incur charges if it takes you over your hold luggage allowance.

Hold Baggage Allowance depends on fare type - please check your Itinerary carefully.

Standard hold bag

1 bag up to 20kg   (15kg on Southampton - Alderney/Alderney - Southampton route)

Large hold bag

1 bag up to 23kg

Maximum hold baggage weight

No single hold bag can exceed the maximum weight limit of 23kg.

Excess baggage

Passengers exceeding their allowance will be charged at the current excess baggage rates at check-in.

As at 01 Jan 19 the rates are: £10 per kg on all routes except Alderney services which are charged at £4 per kg.

Certain items will only be carried by us on a Limited Release basis:

What is Limited Release?

In the event of accidental damage in transit, the following items will NOT be covered by the airline:

• Fragile, valuable or inadequately packed 
• Lightweight garment bags 
• Late checked-in luggage 
• Perishable items and foodstuffs 
• Any items already in a damaged condition 
• ANY electronic items including all camera equipment and electrical items such as laptops, MP3 players, tools etc. 
• Glassware and china 
• Baby equipment, buggies, car seats etc 
• Sporting goods and their travel bags including but not limited to golf clubs, windsurfers, skis, bicycles, sporting weapons, etc 
• Musical instruments and their cases
• Important documents and cash
• Any other fragile, valuable or inadequately packed items not specifically listed. 

By prior arrangement, registered Assistance dogs are able to travel on all Aurigny services, with the exception of flights to Grenoble. Please email [email protected] for availability with the breed and weight of your dog(s) and a copy of their registration with one of the accredited members of the assistance dog association. Only dogs registered with one of the schemes in the link below can be accommodated.

Assistance Dogs International

Guide/Assistance Dogs - Due to their training and temperament, guide dogs are permitted to be seated with their owner in the cabin - but ideally these dogs will be carried in the transit carrier/cage.

Pet Dogs/Cats - can only be accepted on Southampton to/from Alderney and Southampton to/from Guernsey. We can not carry pets on any other route. Please note that you are required to carry your own pet in its crate to/from the aircraft and pet must remain inside the crate at all times whilst on the airport tarmac/ramp area. All dogs are required to be muzzled whilst in the airport terminals both pre and post flight.

Aurigny only Permits the carriage of pet dogs/cats (Minimum age 8 weeks) in the aircraft hold on the following types of aircraft:

1. ATR  -  Guernsey to Southampton (both directions - first flight of the day only).

2. Dornier 228 - On Alderney routes.

To book on type 1 flights (Guernsey/Southampton) book your flights online and add the pet at the same time in the Add Luggage section. A fee will apply per sector. Ensure you print and understand the requirements for carriage PetDec.

To book on type 2 flights (Alderney) call RES on 01481 267267. They will make your booking for you and the equivalent of the available passenger fare without taxes will apply (this is because to secure space for the dog crate in the hold we have to remove one seat from sale).

Dornier flights

* Two animals from the same family may be carried provided the combined weight of the pets and the 1 crate does not exceed 23 kgs and the pets have enough space to stand up/turn around and lie down comfortably. Both animals most be of the same type/size, i.e. no dog/cat  or dog/puppy combinations permitted. Up to 3 puppies/kittens (12 weeks or under) from the same family may be carried in one crate.

ATR flights

* Two animals from the same family may be carried provided the combined weight of the pets and the 1 crate does not exceed 23 kgs and the pets have enough space to stand up/turn around and lie down comfortably. Both animals most be of the same type/size, i.e. no dog/cat  or dog/puppy combinations permitted. Up to 3 puppies/kittens (12 weeks or under) from the same family may be carried in one crate.

* Owner must travel with the pet, and must supply their own sturdy, solid plastic/wood type pet carrier. Max dimensions of the container no more than L90 cm × W60 cm × H75 cm. Soft pet carriers & wire cages are NOT suitable and will not be accepted for travel and you will be refused travel. No refunds will be made in such cases.

* The container will be placed in the front hold of the ATR and passenger must carry their own container and pet through security to be handed to the Loaders at the aircraft and on arrival from the aircraft to the terminal building. Owners will be required to muzzle their dogs (not applicable to cats) from the time that they check-in until the dog is placed in the transit carrier/cage in the aircraft. At the end of the flight, the dog should again be muzzled before it is removed from the cage and until it is safely outside of the terminal building

Please note that in the event of flight cancellation Aurigny cannot guarantee pet friendly accommodation will be available, or provided,  and passengers may have to make their own arrangements. Aurigny is under no obligation to reimburse such consequential expenses.

Dornier flights (Alderney)

* Aurigny will provide a transit carrier/cage and can only accept dogs that can comfortably fit within it, following usual animal welfare guidelines i.e. the animal must be able to stand, turn and lie down. The cage is loaded in the rear hold of the aircraft - we cannot permit any pet dog/cats etc. in the aircraft cabin.

The cage measures approx. L91 cm x W61 cm x H68 cm. For guidance this means that the maximum weight of dog will be 23kgs. Some lighter dogs - may be too large for the cage, depending on the breed of dog and it will be the owner’s responsibility to determine whether or not their dog can be safely carried. However, Aurigny as carrier, will have the final say at embarkation if they have any concerns for the animals welfare they reserve the right to refuse carriage.  Please note:

1. A reservation must be made for all dogs/cats.
2. Pet tickets may not be refundable.
3. Only one pet bookings can be accepted per Dornier flight. 
4. Aurigny as carrier will have the final say on whether they can be carried and follow IATA guidelines: Click here to read the Iata regulations
5. Pets are not entitled to any cabin or hold baggage allowance and do not earn Frequent Flyer points.
6. Owners must remain with their dog/cat at all times in the airport. They must carry the pet and container - airline staff will not assist with this. Owners are responsible for the pets transit through the airport and exercise should delays be encountered. 
7. Owners must confirm that the above transit carrier/cage size is appropriate for the size of their dog/cat.
8. On the day of travel, owners will be required to sign a form confirming that the transit carrier/cage is of a suitable size and that they accept full responsibility for the dog while in transit.
9. Owners will be required to muzzle their dogs from the time that they check-in until the dog is placed in the transit carrier/cage in the aircraft. At the end of the flight, the dog should again be muzzled before it is removed from the cage and until it is safely outside of the terminal building.
10. Owners will be required to place their dog in the transit carrier/cage (the transit carrier/cage will have to be placed in the aircraft first and the dog put in afterwards) and to take their dog out of the transit carrier/cage at the end of the flight.
11. Owners will be required to provide a waterproof blanket to place in the tray in the bottom of the transit carrier/cage.
12. In the event of flight cancellation Aurigny cannot guarantee pet friendly accommodation will be available or provided and passengers may have to make their own arrangements. Aurigny is under no obligation to reimburse such consequential expenses.

There are 3 types of lithium battery.

Small lithium batteries and cells are found in mobile phones, watch batteries, MP3 players, cameras and laptops. Generally the maximum watt-hour rating for these batteries is 100Wh or below.

Medium lithium batteries and cells are found in larger laptops and batteries used by audio-visual professionals. The watt-hour rating of these batteries is generally between 100-160 Wh.

Large lithium batteries and cells are primarily used by industry. A large rechargeable battery provides over 160 Wh of power, and can be found in mobility aids. Special arrangements should be made to carry these lithium batteries. Passengers are required to give a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to carry large lithium batteries.

Passengers are reminded of the following important safety advice when carrying lithium batteries:

• Never carry damaged batteries or equipment on an aircraft.
• Lithium batteries are NOT PERMITTED to be in checked-in (Hold) baggage, with the exception of mobility aids.
• All battery powered equipment/devices must be packaged to prevent inadvertent activation and spare batteries should be in the manufacturers packaging where possible. If not, you MUST protect it from short circuit and damage by placing electrical tape over exposed terminals, or by placing it in a protective case or strong plastic bag.

Note:  Aurigny do not accept any E-Bikes for carriage on any of it's aircraft.

Only one piece of sporting equipment will be considered for the Sporting Goods charge, any further pieces will be treated as excess baggage, unless an additional bag has been pre-purchased. Sporting goods and any other baggage in excess of your baggage allowance will be carried subject to payload. In the event of items travelling on a later flight than yourself, you will be responsible for collecting these from the destination airport.

Large and bulky sports items such surfboards and windsurfers may not be able to be carried on our aircraft when they have a full complement of passengers and baggage. When planning to carry bulky items please check space availability with our Reservations Department.

Pre-booked Enhanced Baggage Allowance - Passengers may pre-book one additional bag, weighing up to a maximum 20kgs (see Charges and Fees Summary FAQs for current prices). This facility will be limited to a maximum 6 items on flights between CI and UK, and 10 items on Grenoble route. To pre-book (up to 4 hours prior to travel) please call our Reservations department on Tel: +44 (0) 1481 267267.

This service is not available on Alderney services operated by the Dornier 228 aircraft. 

Sporting goods are carried on a Limited Release basis only; Aurigny will not accept responsibility for accidental damage in transit. Sporting goods are non-refundable.

Do you carry golf clubs?

Yes.  If your golf clubs take you over your baggage allowance, we will apply a Sporting Goods charge.

Golf bags may be pre-booked on regional services between the Channel Islands and the UK, the total maximum on any one flight will be 6 pre-booked items. To book, please call our Reservations department on Tel: +44 (0)1481 267267. Please note, this facility is not available on flights to/from Alderney. Passengers travelling to/from Alderney are advised to deliver their clubs to the freight shed in advance. Please note there is a charge levied by security in Guernsey for sending golf clubs unaccompanied in advance to Alderney.

Golf clubs and other sporting equipment will only be accepted for carriage on a Limited Release basis and are non refundable. 

It is strongly recommended that all clubs are carried in rigid cases to help protect against accidental damage.

Please note - Limited Release items (including sporting goods) will not be covered by the airline; Aurigny will not accept responsibility for accidental damage in transit. Any claim for compensation should be addressed to your insurance company.

Do you carry fishing equipment?

Yes. If your fishing equipment takes you over your baggage allowance we will apply a Sporting Goods charge.

Due to the size restrictions of the aircraft hold fishing rods may not exceed maximum length as follows: 8ft for flights operated by the Embraer aircraft, 6ft for flights operated by the ATR aircraft, and 4ft for all Dornier flights. Please check with Reservations on 01481 267267 if you need to add fishing equipment to your booking, or to check aircraft type. As we reserve the right to switch aircraft  for operational reasons you should also be aware that we may on occasion need to switch the Embraer for an ATR and any rods over 8ft would not be able to be accommodated and would be sent on a later flight  Fishing rods can only be accepted on a limited release basis, and you must have adequate insurance to cover any accidental damage.

BAIT - live/frozen bait may only be carried as part of your personal baggage allowance. No bait will be accepted as freight. You must ensure that any live/frozen bait is secured in air/water tight containers. Sealed cool boxes may be used provided they fit within the baggage restrictions on size/weight and do not contain ice or any other prohibited/corrosive products. Any item with a corrosive or dangerous label will NOT be accepted for travel regardless of the contents.  You should be aware that if, for any reason, we are unable to accommodate your baggage/bait on the same flight as you that it will be forwarded at a later date and we will not accept any liability for any resulting loss of usable bait.

Please note - Limited Release items (including sporting goods) will not be covered by the airline; Aurigny will not accept responsibility for accidental damage in transit. Any claim for compensation should be addressed to your insurance company.

Do you carry bicycles?  (This service is not available on Alderney services operated by the Dornier 228 aircraft) - No E-bikes are permitted on Aurigny flights.

Yes to manual push bikes, on our larger aircraft and subject to availability and limited release (see further down), but please note the following packaging requirements:

• The bicycle must be bagged or boxed, and made safe as below. MAX total weight 23 KGS.
• Handlebars must be turned and secured in line with the frame. 
• Pedals must be removed.
• The front wheel must be removed and securely attached to the frame. 
• The tyres must be fully deflated.

Do you carry other sporting equipment?  (This service is not available on Alderney services operated by the Dornier 228 aircraft)

Yes. Windsurfers, surfboards, skis, snowboards, scuba, archery, paintball equipment, bicycles and camping equipment and any other awkwardly proportioned or fragile equipment may be carried, subject to availability of space. If your equipment takes you over your baggage allowance we will apply a Sporting Goods charge.

Large and bulky sports items like surfboards and windsurfers may not be able to be carried on our aircraft when they have a full complement of passengers and baggage. When planning to carry bulky items please check space availability with our Reservations Department. 
Sporting equipment will only be accepted for carriage on a Limited Release basis.

Please note - Limited Release items (including sporting goods) will not be covered by the airline; Aurigny will not accept responsibility for accidental damage in transit. Any claim for compensation should be addressed to your insurance company.

Do you carry sporting weapons, starter pistols, antique firearms, BB guns?

All of the above will only be accepted for carriage by prior arrangement and only if all necessary approvals have been obtained from the appropriate Authorities. Please allow extra time for the paperwork formalities to be completed prior to check-in. An original and 3 signed copies of the Firearm Declaration form must be presented or completed at check-in.

When carriage is permitted, the gun/weapon must be packed in its own lockable hard casing. (This must be locked). There must be no ammunition in the gun. 
The ammunition must be packed in its own secure metal container. (No more than 5Kgs per gun and cannot be pooled with another passenger)

On services between the Channel Islands and the UK, a handling charge of £45 per sector is made for each individually packed weapons case. (Maximum 2 weapons per case). This covers the paperwork, special handling and entitles you to 1 piece of hold luggage for the firearm (at up to 20kgs.)  If you require 2 pieces of hold luggage, you would need to purchase an additional bag allowance.

Please note that for the majority of Aurigny routes/fares the baggage allowance is based on the number of 'pieces' of baggage, not the combined weight of items. Each item checked in is considered a piece in its own right.

Sporting weapons and ammunition will be carried on a Limited Release basis only. In all cases please call on UK +44 (0)1481 267267 in advance to discuss the carriage of weapons. Please note - Limited Release items (including sporting goods) will not be covered by the airline; Aurigny will not accept responsibility for accidental damage in transit. Any claim for compensation should be addressed to your insurance company.

Christmas Crackers can travel in HOLD luggage only

Reminder please that Christmas crackers are permitted on Aurigny flights subject to the following terms: 

1. Maximum of 12 crackers in 1 box per person

2. Box must be in original sealed box (unopened)

3. Crackers travel in hold luggage only

4. Crackers are declared at Check-In

5. NO PARTY POPPERS PERMITTED

All routes except between Alderney - Southampton, Alderney - Guernsey and for travel between the UK and Alderney via Guernsey;

Can I carry a relatives ashes on-board with me?

Yes, human ashes may be carried on-board provided the container is securely sealed and fits within your permitted hand-baggage allowance. Please ensure that you also have documentation to confirm the contents - such as crematorium certificate or funeral directors letter as you may be asked for this at airport security.

The European Union has adopted security rules that restrict the quantity of liquids, gels and pastes that air passengers may carry in cabin bags. 

Individual containers (of liquids) must not exceed 100ml (approximately 3.5 fl.oz). Limited quantities of liquids, gels and pastes may include: 

• Shampoo
• Creams
• Hair gel, hair spay
• Suntan lotions
• Toothpaste
• Liquid or aerosol deodorants
• Perfumes
• Cosmetics such as mascara and lip gloss
• Water and other drinks,soups and syrups
• Other items of similar consistency.

All liquid containers must be carried in a separate clear plastic, zip-top or re-sealable bag that does not exceed 20 cm x 20cm (8 inches x 8 inches) or equivalent to one litre capacity. Items must fit in the bag comfortably and the bag must be completely closed. At the airport security search, the plastic bag must be removed from the cabin bag and x-ray screened separately.

Customers may also carry:

• Essential medicines in liquid form sufficient for the flight (e.g. diabetic kit), as long as verified as authentic.
• Baby milk and liquid baby food sufficient and essential for the flight. Security staff will require that the contents of each bottle or jar be tasted by the accompanying passenger.
• Small personal oxygen cylinders of no more than 18” (45cm). Must be clearly labelled and a medical note or prescription is required. Please call Reservations on 01481 267267 at least 72 hours prior to travel.

Please also note - due to the risk of spillage we are unable to allow hot beverages onboard Aurigny aircraft. On regional services hot and cold drinks will be served by the cabin crew during a safe period of the flight. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Please note - we are unable to accept responsibility for any medication in checked-in hold baggage. We would advise passengers to take essential medicines onboard in your hand luggage. See notes regarding liquid medication above.

Laptops and large electrical items (e.g. hairdryer) must be removed from the bag and placed in a tray so that such items neither obscure nor are obscured by the bag, during the x-ray process.

Pushchairs, walking aids and wheelchairs are permitted and will be x-ray screened, or manually searched. 

Please note that you are likely to be hand searched at security and you may need to remove footwear to be x-rayed. Our apologies for the disruption this may cause and thank you for your co-operation.

The following items may NOT be carried in hand luggage in the interest of passenger security - No sharp or potentially dangerous items such as scissors, knives etc.

The following items may NOT be carried under any circumstances - compressed gases, corrosives, explosives, flammable liquids.

Please note: Any prohibited items identified on the x-ray or by direct search, will be confiscated by airport security staff. Any items refused at the security search will not be accepted for checking-in as hold luggage once check-in for your flight has closed, this is normally 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.

Our standard seat belts extend to 85cm, and we also carry extension belts of 70cms on every flight. These can be requested from the cabin crew onboard. 

If you require more than one seat you will be able to book this by calling us on +44 1481 267267. The extra seat will be charged at the best available price less the UK departure tax.

We also carry extension seat belts for use by Infants under 2 years travelling on a parent/guardian's lap.

Plaster Casts

Due to the risk of swelling;  passengers fitted with a plaster cast less than 48 hours before flying MUST have the cast split by a medical professional or they cannot be accepted for travel. Passengers with leg casts cannot extend their leg in to the aircraft aisles as these need to be kept clear at all times. If extra space is required it may be necessary to purchase an additional seat to ensure sufficient space is available.

Passengers fitted with a medical CGM may travel on Aurigny flights provided the handheld monitoring device is in Flight Safe mode for the duration of the flight.

Passengers travellling with their personal CPAP machine may bring this in addition to their hand luggage allowance, a doctor's letter is required for security clearance.

Yes.   But, unfortunately, we are NOT able to accept mobility scooters or electric wheelchairs on the Dornier type aircraft that operate on the Alderney routes.

On all other routes due to a recent change in CAA regulations, we can only carry these items if they can be dismantled and packed into separate boxes / containers that weigh no more than 28kgs per item. The batteries (dry cell or gell only) must be completely disconnected with the terminals wrapped for protection. Please note, due to size, weight, value and fragility, these items will only be carried subject to availability on a Limited Release basis.

We’re here to provide you with the help you need on your journey, from when you arrive at check-in, board the aircraft and arrive at your destination.

What we can do to assist you?

A range of services are available from us or other service providers at the airports. Once we know your needs, we will take it from there to make sure the arrangements are in place.

Depending on your individual needs and requirements we can:

• Organise assistance or an escort to and from the aircraft.

• Provide help with aircraft stairs where necessary, with specialist equipment available. 

• ****Please note that due to the weight restrictions on the integral steps of our Dornier aircraft we are not able to offer a Lift On/Off service on this aircraft type so passengers must be able to board without assistance. The Dornier aircraft currently operates the Alderney routes.

When you reach the aircraft and are seated, our cabin crew and staff will do their upmost to make you feel comfortable during your flight.

They can:

• Store and retrieve your hand baggage.

• Open any packaging for food or drink available on-board and lay this out on the tray.

You will be seated in an appropriate area of the aircraft and, where possible, in a seat where the armrest to the aisle lifts up.

What you’ll need to do

During the flight, all passengers are responsible for their own personal care. This includes eating, drinking, taking medicine, and their personal care in the toilet (If you are able to get to the toilet unaided ** see below).

You will need to travel with a Safety Assistant (see the Safety Assistant Fares section) if you need help to do any of the following:

• Reach an emergency exit unaided in the case of an emergency.

• Lift yourself in and out of your seat.

• Follow safety instructions and communicate with crew members on safety matters. This may apply to passengers having a severe learning/cognitive disability or an age-related impairment such as dementia.

• Fasten/unfasten your seat belt.

• Retrieve and fit a life jacket and an oxygen mask.

Please note: (**) In case you have not travelled with us before, you should be aware that we operate a fleet of smaller aircraft, which may not have the same facilities you are used to with larger carriers. For example, due to the size and configuration of the aircraft, we are not able to carry a wheelchair on board and the toilet cubicles are smaller. This means you should consider your personal care Before boarding the flight, particularly for the use of the toilet.

Delays & Overnight delays/diversions

It is also important that you consider the possibility of a diversion or overnight stop, for example during weather disruption.

In these circumstances, we will endeavour to provide accommodation suitable for your needs but we are not in a position to provide specialist care, special dietary requirements or assistance to passengers, above and beyond what is outlined above, so you will need to take care of yourself overnight and at mealtimes. *In particular we strongly recommend that passengers retain their medication in their hand baggage and ensure they are able to provide for their own needs if they require regular meals or special diets as we are unable to guarantee what options will be available at the various airports we serve.

If you find that your flight has been diverted or delayed overnight, our accommodation provider will do their best to find accommodation suitable for your needs (and accessible transportation to get you to/from the accommodation). You can also make your own arrangements, keep your receipts and we will reimburse your reasonable expenses (This is up to a maximum of £100 per person and excludes alcohol).

A Safety Assistant fare is now available (see the Safety Assistant Fares section below).

How to request assistance

You can request assistance by contacting our Reservations team after booking a flight. This should be a minimum of 72 hours prior to travel but ideally as soon as possible. This ensures that we have time to provide the appropriate advice and make the necessary arrangements for you.

We will ask a series of questions to determine what kind of assistance you require. This includes whether you can manage the aircraft steps unaided, or just need assistance to and from the aircraft. We will also ask whether you can make your own way to the seat or require help. We will also check whether you need to travel with a safety assistant.

Wheelchair assistance through the airport - to and from the aircraft

To help you get to and from the aircraft, a wheelchair will be made available if requested in advance.  With the exception of the Emergency Exit rows you may choose to sit in any row of the aircraft by pre-selecting your seat on the website or you will be allocated a seat without charge at check-in.

Assistance through the airport and with the aircraft stairs

When providing assistance with aircraft stairs, you may hear us use the term “lift on”. By this we mean the use of specialist stair climbing equipment to help people with reduced mobility to get onto the aircraft.

If you require assistance for the stairs, please call our Reservations team as soon as you have booked on 01481 267267. We have specialist stair climbing equipment (S-MAX) to help passengers up and down the aircraft stairs of the ATR and Embraer. The chair has a maximum weight limit, but due to our aircraft size (our aircraft aisle is just 18” wide and the seat 16” wide) please do make us aware if you weigh more than 120kgs, and as our larger customers may also need extra equipment please confirm when booking assistance if you weigh over 80kgs. You may choose your own window seat in any row of the aircraft (except an Emergency exit row) on the Aurigny website - or you will be allocated a window seat without charge at the check-in desk. We request that you are seated in a window seat for your own comfort and to avoid disturbing you when the adjacent passenger is boarded.

Assistance through the airport and with the aircraft stairs and into your seat

If you are unable to manage to manage stairs or reach your seat on the aircraft without assistance we can arrange for a full "lift on" service using specialised equipment.

If you require assistance for the stairs and to your seat, please call our Reservations team as soon as you have booked on 01481 267267. We have specialist stair climbing equipment (S-MAX) to help passengers up and down the aircraft stairs of the ATR and Embraer. Safety Assistant Fares

Where a passenger needs to travel with a Safety Assistant, but would otherwise be travelling alone, we have introduced a new fare scheme.  Please note this is only available on our regular scheduled services, and will not be available on one-off flights, weekend break flights, summer sun or ski flights.

Under this scheme, Aurigny will provide a complimentary ticket to the Assistant for any ‘positioning’ legs of the journey, i.e. where no assistance is required and the assistant is travelling alone. The ticket for the journey where they provide the assistance (travel with the passenger) will be charged at the normal rate.

Complimentary flights must be within 36 hours of the flight they are providing assistance on, or the next available return scheduled service. This may involve travelling to and from a different airport. Aurigny reserves the right to restrict the sale of Safety Assistant fares subject to commercial loads, in which case the nearest alternative flight will be offered.

A Safety Assistant must be aged 16 or over and capable of looking after all aspects of the welfare of the passenger – in particular assisting the passenger to the emergency exit. If a passenger is already planning to travel with another person, such as a family member or friend (aged 16 and over) who can provide the necessary assistance, this can be booked in the normal way.

Procedure for booking Safety Assistants

If the same Safety Assistant is travelling with the passenger outbound and/or inbound, please book the passenger and Assistant together in the same booking on the Aurigny website and then call us to arrange the complimentary flights, where the assistant will be travelling alone

If different Assistants are travelling with the passenger on their outbound and inbound flights, follow the same procedure, using the name of the first Assistant on both flights. Then call us and we will arrange the complimentary flight for each Assistant and make the necessary name change.

Medical advice

Aurigny may need to request written professional medical advice from the passenger to confirm that the passenger is fit to fly. Any associated cost for such advice will need to be met by the passenger.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM THE CABIN CREW AS YOU BOARD AN AURIGNY FLIGHT OF ANY CONSUMABLE PRODUCTS THAT MAY CAUSE YOU TO HAVE A SERIOUS ALLERGIC REACTION.

Please note that we carry products on board that may contain nuts or other allergenic products so it is imperative that if you suffer from any serious allergic reactions that you inform the cabin crew immediately on boarding our aircraft. The cabin crew will withdraw any such items for sale during your flight and also request that other passengers refrain from opening/consuming any such items that they may have brought on board with them.

FLYING DURING PREGNANCY

For women with uncomplicated pregnancies flying is usually problem free, but if you are in any doubt whether you are fit to fly, you should consult your doctor. 

If you are expecting a multiple birth you will require a Doctors certificate AS WELL as completing the appropriate form below. For twin/multiple pregnancy you will not be able to fly after the end of your 32nd week.

The following summarises Aurigny's requirements regarding flying during pregnancy:

Up to 27^th week of pregnancy

You can fly up to the 27^th week providing your pregnancy is progressing as normal and there are no complications. You must print and complete Form A and hand a copy to the check-in staff on each flight.

28^th to 35^th week of pregnancy

28^th to 35^th week of pregnancy you are permitted to travel with a valid medical certificate obtained by your doctor, if you are unable to provide a doctor’s letter then you need to complete a flying during pregnancy Form B and hand a copy to the check-in staff on each flight.

36^th week of pregnancy and beyond

Passengers will be allowed to travel at any stage from the 36^th week of pregnancy and beyond on our short routes to and from the UK. Before passengers can be accepted, you MUST provide a medical certificate obtained by the doctor, and dated within the prior 7 days, confirming that the passenger is fit to travel. This must be attached to Form C and a copy handed to the check-in staff on each flight. If a passenger is unable to supply the medical certificate they will not be permitted to travel.

While all assistance will be offered by Aurigny staff to the pregnant passenger, Aurigny will not be held accountable for any childbirth problems that should be encountered as a consequence of travel.

Carriage of Infants

Infants are deemed to be under two years old (24 months) and must travel on the lap of a parent or guardian using a special supplementary loop belt to ensure they are safely and securely fastened. Infant fares are discounted by Aurigny because of the shared seating arrangement. There is no minimum age for the carriage of infants on Aurigny flights, however, we recommend that for babies under 4 weeks of age you check with your doctor. On the day of the infant's second birthday they will be charged a child fare and seated in their own seat. NB this additional tariff applies on the anniversary of their birthday and may mean that an outbound fare is charged at the infant rate while the return is charged at the child rate.

What is Flight Forward?

This is primarily (but not exclusively) a service designed for Guernsey families travelling with young children whose return flight from abroad arrives in time to allow them to catch an earlier Aurigny flight home.

For example, A family travelling back from the USA have allowed plenty of time to connect with their Aurigny flight. They arrive on schedule, and realise that they have enough time to catch an earlier Aurigny flight and avoid hanging around at the airport. Flight Forward caps the cost of changing to an earlier flight for £45 for adults and allows any children travelling with them, on the same booking, to change flights free of charge. 

Changes are subject to seat availability at the time of making the change, and only apply to passengers holding a reservation on a later flight and not a standby facility. Flight Forward can only be used at the airport of departure on the day of departure and not within 1 hour of the scheduled departure time of the booked flight. If you wish to change your flight in advance of arriving at the airport, you must use our normal change of booking process.

There are no children travelling with us, can we still use Flight Forward?

Yes, although there is a possibility that you may save money by using our normal change of booking facility. This would be the case if the fare you originally paid was still available on the flight you want to change to. Ask a tour ticket desk and they will be able to determine which option will be most cost effective.

I am travelling on my own. Can I use Flight Forward?

Yes, you can.

How much do I have to pay?

Adults, or children travelling without an accompanying adult, pay £45 per person. Children under 18 years are free, provided they are travelling with at least 1 adult on the same booking. Proof of age may be required.

What if I have to travel on a later Aurigny service?

Flight forward is only available for passengers wishing to travel on an earlier flight. Normal fare conditions and charges will apply for anyone wishing to change to a later flight, or the Rescue Fee may be applicable if you have missed your original flight.

Is it available on all fare types, including the lowest online fare.

It is applicable on all fares (including bookings made via a travel agent) that would normally incur a fee to change. Fully Flexible and SMART fare tickets can be changed without charge for an earlier flight on the original day of travel..

Is this available on all Aurigny services?

Yes, it is available on all Aurigny routes.

Does this need to be paid in advance of travel?

No, you only pay if you use it, and it can only be arranged in person on the day of travel at the airport (ticket desks).

Where do I do this?

For London Gatwick, go to the Airline Services ticket sales desk at the South Terminal. If arriving into Manchester please see Premiere Handling, or at London Stansted, Bristol or East Midlands, go to the Swissport check-in desk.

Are they any restrictions to number of children?

No, there are no restrictions, as long as there is at least one accompanying adult and everybody is travelling on the same booking.

Aurigny do not charge for the use of Credit/Debit Cards.

Can I use Web Check-In? 

Web Check-in is available to passengers with or without hold luggage. If you have hold baggage please present it at the Aurigny Check-in desk along with your Web boarding pass no later than the minimum check-in/bag drop time shown in the Check-in section of the FAQ's. If you do not have hold baggage then proceed directly through security.

Web Check-in is available on all flights except departures to/from Southampton/Alderney, Guernsey/Alderney and Guernsey/Grenoble.

Connecting services on the Aurigny network: 

If your flight with Aurigny involves a connection, for example Manchester to Alderney via Guernsey, the Manchester to Guernsey flight will be available for online check-in. You will have to check-in at the desk in Guernsey for your onward flight to Alderney.

When does Web Check-in Open & Close?

Web Check-in opens 7 days before departure on all eligible flights.

Eligible flights from Guernsey and London Gatwick close for Web Check-in 1 hour before departure and for all our other UK Airports and code share flights (currently all Guernsey to Southampton/Southampton - Guernsey)  3 hours before departure.

How do I login?

Click on the Web Check In button on the home page, this will take you to the login page where you should enter your surname and your 6 character booking reference in the "Booking Login" section.

What do I need? 

Before you start, you need access to a printer capable of producing good quality print in black and white, and we recommend you use a high quality print setting. The boarding passes include a bar code which will be scanned at the airport security desk, and again before you board the aircraft. If these scanners are unable to read your bar code you may have to go to our check-in desk to have a replacement boarding pass printed. For this reason please keep your boarding pass neatly folded and flat.

Do I still need to produce Photographic ID? 

Photographic ID is still required. Please refer to the Photographic ID section for more information.

Can I choose my seat? 

If you wish to choose a seat, go into the My Booking section on the homepage and make a selection prior to checking in. There is a fee per person to choose your seat. If you have paid for a seat reservation already, this will be included on your web boarding pass. If you decide not to pre-purchase a seat reservation, one will be automatically allocated, but you will be unable to specify any preference. If your booking contains two or more people, we will do our best to seat you together. You should use the Check-In ALL Passengers option (highlighted in yellow below)

Will I be asked any security and hand luggage questions? 

You will be asked questions when you go through the Web Check-in process.

The boarding pass will only be issued once the online security and hand luggage questions have been answered correctly. If there is a deviation in answer when at the airport, you may be referred to Aurigny Air Services, or its Handling Agents desk and you could be denied travel.

How do I reprint my Web Check-in boarding pass?

Retrieve your booking from Web Check In In selection on the homepage. Once your booking has been retrieved, you will be directed to the Print Boarding Pass page and you can reprint it from here by selecting the Print button.

I cannot print my boarding pass!

Web browsers with pop-up blockers enabled may prevent the boarding pass from appearing. Please disable the pop-up blocker in your browser settings (some browsers may allow you to do this just for the aurigny.com website). Your boarding pass should then appear as a printable PDF (Acrobat) file. You may need to clear your browser Cache.

I have Checked-in online and now I wish to change my flight, what do I do?

Provided your booking was made on the aurigny website you may change it online even if you have already checked in online. Use the Manage section and follow the instructions. I have Checked-in online and now I wish to change the name, what do I do?

You will have to contact Aurigny via our Central Reservations number (see below). Where possible please do this in advance of the departure time of the flight you are checked-in for. Twilight Check-in and baggage drop is available, and recommended for passengers travelling on any * flight departing Guernsey for the UK or Europe BEFORE 0745 am the following day. (It is not availlable for Alderney).  

* passengers on BlueIslands (codeshare) bookings - are currently not eligible for Twilight Check-in.

This facility is available between 15h00 to 20h00  the evening prior to departure and all Adult passengers, or Youths/Children travelling on separate bookings (to accompanying adults) must be present with their own photo ID.

Children 15 & under (including Infants) do not need to be present for UK flights, but ALL passengers including Children and Infants MUST be present for Palma and other European flights and have their passports ready for inspection.

Please note that with effect from 01 October 21 European ID cards are no longer accepted for travel - a passport is required.

Requirements

All passengers aged 16 and over, and passengers under the age of 16 who are not travelling with an adult, on the same booking reference, are required to provide photographic ID at the check-in desk (unless already checked in prior to arriving at the airport) and at the Departure Gate. (Children under the age of 16 do not need photographic ID if they are being accompanied by an adult on the same booking).

NATIONAL ID cards - please note that following Brexit National ID cards will no longer be acceptable for international travel and all passengers must have a valid passport for travel on Aurigny flights to/from European destinations.  When travelling into the Bailiwick direct from the Republic of Ireland, British or Irish Citizens will need to carry photographic identification. All other nationalities will be required to carry a valid passport.

If you leave an item onboard one of our aircraft it will be handed off to the ground crew at the Arrival airport and reported on the cabin crew flight reports.

How do I cancel my flight? 

Once you have found your booking follow the on-screen instructions. Please note that:

1. Cancelling a flight will apply to all passengers in the booking. If you do not want to cancel all passengers in the booking please call our Reservations Office on UK + 44 (0) 1481 267267.
2. If you need to cancel the outbound and return flights you must cancel the first flight then repeat the process to cancel the second flight.
3. If you are cancelling a connecting journey e.g. Alderney to London Gatwick via Guernsey, when you click the 'Cancel' button under the first flight this will also cancel the onward flight, but not any return flights. You will have to repeat the process to cancel return flights.
4. If the flight you are cancelling is refundable, you will be informed on screen and a refund will be credited to the card originally used to make the booking. This process can take up to 10 working days. If the flight you are cancelling is non-refundable, no refund will be offered.

Once you have found your booking follow the on-screen instructions.

Changes made to a flight will apply to all passengers in the booking.

1. If you do not want to change all the passengers in the booking please call our Reservations Office on UK + 44 (0) 1481 267267.

A change of booking fee applies to Aurigny Light fares, and on all frequent flyer Award Points flights. A difference in fare per flight may also be applicable on all fare types.

If you choose to change a web booking via Aurigny Reservations or ticket desks, you will be charged a higher fee (if you are able to make the change online). Frequent Flyer points tickets are currently not able to be changed online and therefore the applicable web charges will apply.

If the flight you are changing to is at a lower fare than the flight you are changing from, there will be no refund of the difference in fares. (see Charges and Fees Summary)

What can the vouchers be used for? 

Multiple Vouchers per booking can be used to pay for flights on-line simply book as normal and at the payment page select Voucher - enter the voucher number and 4 digit password (printed on the voucher). 

If the value of a voucher does not cover the total cost of the flights additional Vouchers may be used or the additional cost can be paid by credit/debit card.

Where can I purchase Aurigny vouchers?

Vouchers can be purchased via the Aurigny website.

What are the value of the vouchers?
The amount can be any sum. Vouchers can be used multiple times until the value is zero and are valid for a year.

Are there any Restrictions?
Vouchers are not refundable. They cannot be redeemed on board the aircraft.

COVID policy - Points that were due to expire during the period 8th April 2020 - 30 June 2022 remained available for use throughout that period and did not expire - however, with travel returning to normal, those points have now expired on the 30th June 2022 unless 'spent' before this date. Hereafter all points will automatically expire on their regular expiration date (2 years after accrual).

Who is eligible to join?

Membership is open to residents of the Channel Islands, United Kingdom and France aged 18 years of age or over. Additional family members of any age are eligible to join a ‘Household Account’ – see below for details.

How do I join? 

Go to the ‘Join Frequent Flyer’ tab on the home page at www.aurigny.com or click here and complete the registration details required for the Primary Member. An email will be sent confirming the registration has been successful along with a frequent flyer membership number and password. Using these details members can log-in and gain points for each booking made at an eligible fare once travel is completed.

What is a Primary Member?
A Primary Member is any person who joins the Aurigny Frequent Flyer Programme and then chooses to add additional family members to his/her account and create a ‘Household Account’. The Primary Member of the Household Account will receive all communications concerning the account and is responsible for maintaining correct details for each member, including removing members if they permanently leave the residential address for any reason, including death of a member, and changing the passenger ‘type’ once an Infant becomes a Child (2nd birthday), or a Child becomes an Adult (12th birthday).

What is a Household Account?
Any Aurigny Frequent Flyer member can invite up to six additional family members to join a Household Account (making a total of 7 members including the Primary Member). A Household Account enables each member to earn Award Points and to pool Award Points with the other members of the account and use them on scheduled flights with Aurigny. All bookings (earn or redemptions) must be made by the Primary Member.

Who can join a Household Account? 
All members of a Household Account must permanently reside at the same residential address as the Primary Member. The Primary Member must be aged 18 or over, the other members may be of any age and the six additional members may include children and infants.

How do I create a Household Account? 
The Primary Member can add family members by logging in to the account and clicking My Profile/Add Member for any family members sharing the same family name. If any of the six family members have a different family name then registration will need to be completed by Aurigny. This can be done by emailing us at [email protected], please supply FFP number and name of Primary Member. Proof of domicile of the additional members may be required by the Frequent Flyer Department to support the application.

I book my flight through a travel agent, can I join the scheme and earn Award Points?
Yes you can, firstly you will have to join the scheme online at www.aurigny.com and obtain a Frequent Flyer Membership Number. This number needs to be given to your Travel Agent, who will need to enter this into your booking (or, other members of an Household Account), so that Award Points are recorded. Your Award Points will appear in the "My Points" section. NB Some fares booked through a Travel Agent may not be eligible for Award Points.

Please Note: Award Points bookings can only be made online at www.aurigny.com or through the Aurigny call centre. Bookings made via the Call Centre will incure a small fee (see Charges and Fees Summary).

Earning Award Points

How do I earn Aurigny Frequent Flyer Award Points? 
Having registered and logged in to Frequent Flyer - by booking flights through www.aurigny.com or at an Aurigny sales outlet, or through a travel agent using Aurigny's published fares (excluding flights booked as part of an inclusive package holiday).
Bookings made at a Group fare via the Aurigny Groups department are eligible for points at 80% of the regular rate.
Industry discount tickets, Agent discount tickets and airline employee discount tickets are not eligible to earn Award Points.

When will my Award Points appear on my Account? 
Your Award Points will automatically be credited to your account, usually within 48 hours of completing your flight and can be verified by checking the ‘My Points’ section of the Frequent Flyer page once logged in.

What if my Award Points do not appear in ‘My Points’ or I have a query concerning them? 
Award Points which are not credited automatically for any reason may be credited later at Aurigny’s discretion. For any discrepancy please email: [email protected] along with your Frequent Flyer number and the booking reference concerned.

We can only credit points for flights that have been flown within the last six months where the passenger was a member of the scheme at the time of travel.

Who earns Award Points? 
Every member of the Aurigny Frequent Flyer programme, including members of a Household Account (excluding INFANTS), provided the Primary Member is logged in using the membership number and password prior to making a flight reservation. Animals are not permitted as Members. Award Points and point breakdowns can be viewed in the “My Points” section. When logged in as a frequent flyer no other frequent flyer number can be entered. A separate booking should be made by logging in again with the other frequent flyer number.

Do Children and Infants receive points? 
If part of a Household account, children between 2 and 18 years earn Award Points on flights travelled using eligible fares. Infant fares are not eligible for award points.

Do Award Points expire if not used? 
Yes. All points are valid for redemption for a period of 24 months from date of award. Validity of Award Points may not be extended and unused points are not refundable/transferable. The expiration date of points can be viewed in the “My Points”.

I have flown many times recently, can I get Frequent Flyer Award Points for these?
Award Points are not available for any flights travelled prior to joining the programme.

I have several bookings for the future which I made before joining Frequent Flyer, will I get Award Points for these?
You can get Award Points for these by emailing [email protected] to add your number. Please provide the booking reference/s and the respective membership number/s and name/s of any members travelling. Booking must have been made using Aurigny’s published fares to earn Award Points.

Redeeming Award Points

How do I redeem points? 
Log in using your Frequent Flyer number and password, complete the dates of travel and then select 'POINTS', and Find Flights to view how many points are required for your chosen flights/dates. For full information see the How to Redeem section. Please note redemption seats are subject to availability so may not always be available on your chosen flight even if normal fares are still available, booking redemption seats in advance is advisable.

I do not have enough Award Points to cover the cost of the flights I require, can I pay part by credit card or another means? 
No. Award flights may only be purchased if you have sufficient points in your account.

Can I buy additional Award Points?
No, there is no facility to purchase extra Award Points at this times

Do I have to pay any additional charges?
Redemption points cover the cost of the fare, all taxes/charges and any other fees must be paid for by credit/debit card at the end of the booking. Credit card and debit card charges are applicable, there is no fee for payment by Electron card.

Is there a different redemption value for Children?
No, the value is the same as for adults.

Can I use my Award Points to pay for someone else who is not a member of my Household Account? 
Yes, but you will need to book in your name and then call us immediately to change the name OR call us on 01481 267267 to make the booking for you.

Can I only book return flights? 
You are able to book either one way or return flights. Redemption tickets can not be open dated.

Can redemption bookings be made through the Aurigny Reservation Department? 
Yes, however there will be a booking fee (see Charges and Fees Summary), for one way or return journeys.

Can I earn points if I am travelling as part of a Group? (over 10 passengers)

Bookings made at a Group fare via the Aurigny Groups department are eligible for points at 80% of the regular rate. Please ask the travel booker to supply your Frequent Flyer number along with the names list.  You may also add your number retrospectively (up to 6 months provided you were a member at time of travel) by emailing your booking reference and membership number/name to [email protected]. 

Changes and Cancellations to Award Points

How do I make changes to my booking paid for by redemption points? 
All changes must be made by contacting Aurigny’s Reservations Department on +44 1481 267267. All changes are subject to capacity limitations and an administration fee per person will be charged for each sector. For current fee levels see the Fees Section in FAQs or click here.

If the flight you are changing to requires a lower number of points than the one you are changing from, there will be no refund of the difference in fares. Equally if the taxes and charges on the flight you are changing to are lower than the flight you are changing from, there will be no refund of the difference in taxes and charges.

If the flight you are changing to has no tickets available for points you may choose to upgrade to a regular ticket, and your points used for the original ticket will be recredited to you. You will be required to pay the full fare of the new ticket less any taxes/charges already paid for on the original ticket. Normal change of booking fee also applies.

The Primary Member of a Household Account is the only person authorised to make changes. It must be this person who contacts Aurigny. When calling, please make sure you have your frequent flyer membership number available.

What do I do if I need to change the name? 
Name changes are permitted up to 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the first flight in a booking.

Do I get my Award Points refunded if I cancel a flight Booking? 
Award Points are non-refundable, however, any taxes paid will be refunded upon written request to Aurigny Customer Services and subject to an administration charge. For current fee levels see the Fees Section in FAQs or click here .

Are my Award Points refundable if Aurigny cancels my booking?
In the event of a flight being cancelled by Aurigny, Award Points used to purchase a ticket for that flight, flight will be credited back to the Member’s Account. Except if the member has been re-accommodated onto another flight or with another airline/ferry carrier in which case points are not re-credited.

Are my Award Points worth cash? 
Awards Points are not redeemable for cash.

We collect personal data from you when you book a flight with us (either directly or indirectly through our trusted third party partners), create an Aurigny Frequent Flyer account, sign up for our newsletter, use our website and or other websites accessible through our website, participate in a survey or competition, or when you contact us. We also collect personal data in the form of CCTV images when you visit our premises or the Airport site.

AURIGNY FREQUENT FLYER ACCOUNTS

If you create an Aurigny Frequent Flyer account, we will process the information we collect about you and any additional members nominated by you in line with this Privacy Notice.

Protecting the safety and privacy of children is important to us therefore, as an extra precaution, we will not permit children under 16 to be the Primary Member of an Aurigny Frequent Flyer account. As soon as we become aware of any party under 16 being a Primary Member of an account, we will delete it. You should only add an additional member to your Aurigny Frequent Flyer account if you have their consent to do so and to provide the personal information requested. We will delete any information of an additional member collected without that person’s consent as soon as we become aware of it.

If you no longer wish to have an Aurigny Frequent Flyer account with us you may request that this is deleted at any time by emailing [email protected].

IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE PERSONAL INFORMATION

If you fail to provide certain information when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have entered into with you, or we may be prevented from complying with our legal obligations.

CHANGE OF PURPOSE

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If we need to use your personal information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.

Please note that we may process your personal information without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above, where this is required or permitted by law.

HOW WE USE PARTICULARLY SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION

What was referred to as sensitive personal data under the previous data protection law is now referred to as 'Special Category Data'. Special Category Data requires higher levels of protection. We need to have further justification for collecting, storing and using this type of personal information. We may process special categories of personal information in the following circumstances:

1. In limited circumstances, with your explicit written consent.

2. Where we need to carry out our legal obligations and in line with our data protection policy.

3. Where it is needed in the public interest, such as for equal opportunities monitoring, and in line with our data protection policy.

4. To facilitate the provisions of compassionate fares to our customers.

5. If you choose to provide such information over our recorded phone lines or via emails that you send to us.

6, If you chose to provide us with such information to allow us to process compensation claims and / or complaints

Less commonly, we may process this type of information where it is needed in relation to legal claims or where it is needed to protect your interests (or someone else's interests) and you are not capable of giving your consent, or where you have already made the information public.

OUR OBLIGATIONS AS A DATA CONTROLLER

We may use your Special Category Data in the following ways:

•To provide medevac and air ambulance flights.

•To provide special assistance.

•To provide compassionate fares.

•To process health related compensation refunds, waivers, etc.

DO WE NEED YOUR CONSENT?

In limited circumstances, we may approach you for your written consent to allow us to process certain particularly sensitive data. If we do so, we will provide you with full details of the information that we would like and the reason we need it, so that you can carefully consider whether you wish to consent. You should be aware that it is not a condition of your contract with us that you agree to any request for consent from us, but declining consent may affect what services we can offer you.

INFORMATION ABOUT CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS

We may only use information relating to criminal convictions where the law or a regulation allows or requires us to do so. This will usually be where such processing is necessary to carry out our obligations and provided we do so in line with our data protection policy.

Less commonly, we may use information relating to criminal convictions where it is necessary in relation to legal claims, where it is necessary to protect your interests (or someone else's interests) and you are not capable of giving your consent, or where you have already made the information public.

Due to the nature of the work Aurigny undertakes, we do envisage that we will hold information about criminal convictions.

AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING

We do not envisage that any decisions will be taken about you using automated means, however we will notify you in writing if this position changes.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will share your personal information with other entities in our group as part of our regular reporting activities on the group’s performance, in the context of a business reorganisation or group restructuring exercise, for system maintenance support and hosting of data.

We may share your personal information with third parties, for example for a possible sale or restructuring of the business. We may also need to share your personal information with a regulator or to otherwise comply with the law.

In response to the current public health emergency resulting from the recent COVID-19 pandemic (“Virus”), Aurigny is required to provide various stakeholders with additional information for the purpose of preventing, mitigating and controlling the impact of this virus. This information includes but is not limited to the provision of:

•Passenger names

•Contact details

•Flights, seat location and travel undertaken

•Contact with other parties (as required)

We will not share or sell your personal data with anyone outside of Aurigny except as set out below:

•we made it clear to you we may do so when you provided the information.

•to third parties we have contracted or are contracted by to provide the products and services you have requested.

•to credit reference and debt collection agencies.

•to our auditors or legal advisors and other advisors to our group.

•we are legally required to do so.

•our regulatory obligations require us to do so.

•with relevant third parties in the event of Aurigny's sale, merger, consolidation, change in control, reorganisation, liquidation or administration.

We require third parties to respect the security of your data and to treat it in accordance with the law.

We may transfer the personal information we collect about you to countries in the Member States of the European Union, jurisdictions the European Commission has determined provide an 'adequate' level of protection, and jurisdictions the States of Deliberation has designated as sufficiently protective to receive personal information.

For other jurisdictions, we will limit transfers to those which are under an agreement containing 'standard data protection clauses'.

WHICH THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

"Third parties" includes third-party service providers (including contractors and designated agents) and other entities within our group. The following activities are carried out by third-party service providers:

•Airports, governments, authorities (including the Civil Aviation Authority) and law enforcement agencies.

•Travel agents or other companies involved in booking flights.

•Suppliers of data warehouse and processing operations.

•Suppliers providing services to us in order carry out our business activities.

•Suppliers assisting us with improving customer experience.

•Marketing, advertising and promotion activities.

•Airline operational services.

•Payment services provided by banks, credit card and debit card issuers and payments processing organisations.

DATA SECURITY

We have put in place measures to protect the security of your information.

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal information to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal information on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes. However, we may be compelled by law to disclose information we hold about you to a third party, such as border control agencies, and have limited control over how that information is protected by that party.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

DATA RETENTION

HOW LONG WILL WE USE YOUR INFORMATION FOR?

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you, in which case we may use such information without further notice to you. Once you are no longer a Contact of the group we will retain and securely destroy your personal information in accordance with our data retention policy and/or applicable laws and regulations.

RIGHTS OF ACCESS, CORRECTION, ERASURE, AND RESTRICTION

YOUR DUTY TO INFORM US OF CHANGES

It is important that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal information changes during your working relationship with us.

YOUR RIGHTS IN CONNECTION WITH PERSONAL INFORMATION

Under certain circumstances, by law you have the:

•Right to data portability: right to request the transfer of your personal information to another party.

•Right of access to your personal information (commonly known as a "data subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.

•Right to object to processing of your personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground. You also have the right to object where we are processing your personal information for direct marketing purposes or if data were being processed on grounds of public interest or for historical or scientific purposes.

•Right to rectification of the personal information that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.

•Right to erasure of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal information where you have exercised your right to object to processing (see below).

•Right to restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.

•Right to be notified of rectification, erasure and restrictions.

•Right not to be subject to decisions based on automated processing.

If you want to review, verify, correct or request erasure of your personal information, object to the processing of your personal data, or request that we transfer a copy of your personal information to another party, please contact our Data Privacy Team directly on [email protected].

NO FEE USUALLY REQUIRED

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal information (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request for access is clearly unfounded or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.

WHAT WE MAY NEED FROM YOU

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access the information (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is another appropriate security measure to ensure that personal information is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it.

RIGHT TO WITHDRAW CONSENT

In the limited circumstances where you may have provided your consent to the collection, processing and transfer of your personal information for a specific purpose, you have the right to withdraw your consent for that specific processing at any time. Once we have received notification that you have withdrawn your consent, we will no longer process your information for the purpose or purposes you originally agreed to, unless we have another legitimate basis for doing so in law.

Smoking - including the use of e-cigarettes - is NOT permitted onboard any Aurigny flight.

E-cigarettes are permitted to be carried in hand luggage only but must not be used during any stage of the flight, including embarkation and disembarkation.

Matches- Lighters

Safety matches, (one small packet) or a small cigarette lighter that does not contain unabsorbed liquid fuel, other than liquified gas, intended for use by an individual when carried on the person  are acceptable.  (they are not permitted in checked baggage or inside hand baggage)

Lighter fuel and lighter fuel refills are not permitted at all - on one's person or in checked or hand baggage.

Note:

'Strike anywhere' matches, 'Blue Flame' or 'Cigar' lighters or lighters powered by a lithium battery without a safety cap or means of protection against unintentional activation are forbidden.

To ensure the safety of the aircraft, and all those onboard, passengers' checked-in baggage and hand baggage must not contain articles or substances that could pose a danger.

Hand baggage should not contain any sharp objects or liquid/creams/pastes/gells over 100ml. Items under 100ml must be placed in a sealed clear plastic container not greater than 20cm x 20cm.

For travel between Guernsey and the UK our hand baggage allowance is two pieces. One piece with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 36cm x 20cm to fit in the overhead locker and another piece with maximum dimensions of 35cm x 25cm x 20cm to fit underneath the seat in front of you. The maximum combined weight of both items is 10kgs. 

For travel between Southampton to/from Alderney and Guernsey to/from Alderney,  the hand baggage allowance is one piece with maximum dimensions of 35cm x 25cm x 20cm weighing less than 6kgs.

The use of blue-tooth head phones is only permitted onboard our EMB195 aircraft which mainly operates on the Gatwick - Guernsey routes.  On all other aircraft they must not be used at all during the flight.
