How much luggage am I allowed? Hold Baggage Allowance On Aurigny Air Service flights is 20 Kgs per passenger, except for flights between Alderney and Southampton & between Guernsey and Dinard on which the allowance is 15 kgs.
Hand luggage is restricted to 1 piece per passenger - max dimensions 43cm x 30cm x 18cm (17" x 12" x 7") max weight 10kgs (Southampton-Alderney, Dinard-Guernsey and inter-island Trislander services 6kgs). Weight in excess of these allowances may be charged at the current published Excess Baggage rates.
Excess Baggage Rates (Effective Nov 2009) Regional Services between Guernsey and Jersey and the UK 10.00 per kg from 21 kgs. All other services 3 per Kg. Minimum charge for any excess baggage charge is 10.00.
Infants: Travelling free of charge or at any designated infant fare do not have a baggage allowance, other than that accompanying passengers are permitted to carry, on their behalf: a carrycot or small wheeled collapsible buggy and a reasonable amount of food and drink for the flight.
Note: on occasion it has been noted that carrycots are checked-in, ostensibly for the use of the infant, but in fact are completely filled with other items (for example large stocks of food etc.) in this case the carrycot shall be counted as normal checked baggage under the rules stated above.
Students: The baggage allowance is 40Kgs (on production of a valid student card). 20Kgs is guaranteed to be carried with the passenger on his/her booked flight, with the additional 20Kgs being carried on a space available basis. Note that if the baggage is sent by an alternative flight, carriage is only on an airport to airport basis, the passenger will have to make their own arrangements to collect from the destination airport. Only available for Channel Island based Students who are travelling to and from their place of study.
Excess baggage coupons issued by other carriers will not be accepted. Hold Baggage Allowances for passengers with connecting flights Passengers connecting to/from other airline flights without "through tickets" (using separate bookings), travelling within 24 hours of their Aurigny flights arrival/departure, will be granted a connecting carrier's baggage allowance, for a charge of 28 per sector, up to a maximum weight of 32Kgs, thereafter excess baggage charges will be applied. This concession will not include enhanced allowances for example, Frequent Flyers or gold card holders.
Passengers connecting to/from other airline flights with "through tickets" (the same ticket shows the Aurigny flight and the other carrier's flight) will be entitled to the baggage allowances shown on the ticket, above that allowance excess baggage charges will apply.
Passengers will be required to show proof of connecting flight bookings to obtain the connecting baggage allowance.
Please note that the maximum weight for any single piece of baggage on Aurigny services is 28Kgs.

The European Union has adopted security rules that restrict the quantity of liquids, gels and pastes air passengers may carry through airport security search points in cabin bags.
Liquids must be held in individual containers not exceeding 100ml (approximately 3.5 fl. oz). Limited quantities of liquids, gels and pastes may include: - Shampoo - Creams - Hair gel, hair spay - Suntan lotions - Toothpaste - Liquid or aerosol deodorants - Perfumes - Cosmetics such as mascara and lip gloss - Water and other drinks,soups and syrups - Other items of similar consistancy. All liquid containers must be carried in a separate clear plastic, zip-top or re-sealable bag that does not exceed 20 cm x 20cm (8 inches x 8 inches) or equivalent to one litre capacity. Items must fit in the bag comfortably and the bag must be completely closed. At the airport security search, the plastic bag must be removed from the cabin bag and x-ray screened separately.
Customers may also carry: - Essential medicines in liquid form sufficient for the flight (e.g. diabetic kit), as long as verified as authentic. - Baby milk and liquid baby food sufficient and essential for the flight. Security staff will require that the contents of each bottle or jar be tasted by the accompanying passenger. -Laptops and large electrical items (e.g. large hairdryer) must be removed from the bag and placed in a tray so that such items neither obscure nor are obscured by the bag, during the x-ray process. - Pushchairs, walking aids and wheelchairs are permitted and will be x-ray screened, or manually searched.
Please note that you are likely to be hand searched at security and you may need to remove footwear to be x-rayed. Our apologies for the disruption this may cause and thank you for your co-operation.
What items cannot be carried as hand baggage? In the interest of passenger security, no sharp or potentially dangerous items may be carried in the aircraft cabin. This list includes such obvious items as scissors, knives etc. Any prohibited items identified on the x-ray or by direct search, will be confiscated by airport security staff.
The following items may NOT be carried under any circumstances - compressed gases, corrosives, explosives, flammable liquids.
Please note: Any items refused at the security search will not be accepted for checking in as hold luggage once check-in for your flight has closed, this is normally 30 minutes before scheduled departure time. Can I check my baggage through to its final destination if I have a connecting flight with another airline? No. Aurigny does not have through baggage agreements with any other carriers. Similarly, passengers cannot check baggage in with another airline to be forwarded to an Aurigny flight.
If another carrier doescheck through your baggage to an Aurigny destination and your baggage fails to arrive at that destination with you, Aurigny will assist you in recovering the bag, but will not pay for it to be delivered to your final destination. Aurigny advises you to specifically request carriers not to through check-in your baggage to Aurigny flights What do I do if my baggage is damaged in transit? Any damage to your baggage must be reported to an Aurigny staff member before leaving the Baggage Reclaim area. A Property Irregularity Report(PIR)will be completed by the staff member and copy given to the passenger. This does not constitute a claim - you will then be required to contact the airline, in writing, within 7 days to make a claim for compensation. This letter should contain a copy of the PIR, your bar-coded baggage sticker and a valuation for a similar replacement item. Please note - Limited Release items will not be covered by the airline. Anyclaim for compensationshould be addressed to your insurance company. What do I do if my baggage islost in transit? If your baggage fails to arrive on the carousel, you should report this to an Aurigny staff member before leaving the Baggage Reclaim area. A Property Irregularity Report(PIR)will be completed by the staff member and copy given to the passenger. We will do everything possible to locate your bag, which will be delivered to you as soon as possible. You will be given a contact number for further information. Do you carry golf clubs? Yes. Golf clubs will be calculated as part of your free baggage allowance. If your golf clubs take you over your free baggage allowance we will apply a 28 Sporting Goods charge. Golf bags may be pre-booked on regional services between the Channel Islands and the UK, the total maximum will be 6 pre-booked ski or golf items. Passengers travelling inter-island may be advised to deliver their clubs to the airport in advance. Sporting equipment, including golf clubs, will only be accepted for carriage on a Limited Release basis.
Do you carry fishing equipment? Yes. Fishing equipment will be calculated as part of your free baggage allowance. If your fishing equipment takes you over your free baggage allowance we will apply a 28 Sporting Goods charge. See the Sporting Goods Carriage section for full details.
Do you carry other sporting equipment? Yes. Windsurfers, surfboards, skis, snowboards, scuba, archery, paintball equipment, bicycles and includes camping equipment and any other awkwardly proportioned or fragile equipment may be carried subject to availability of space, as part of your free luggage allowance. If your equipment takes you over your free baggage allowance we will apply a 28 Sporting Goods charge. See the Sporting Goods Carriage section for full details.

Do you carry sporting weapons? Sporting weapons may only be carried by prior arrangement and when required, only with the approval of the appropriate Authority. When carriage is permitted, the gun must be packed in its own lockable hard casing. (This must be locked). There must be no ammunition in the gun. The ammunition (no more than 5Kgs per gun) cannot be pooled with another passenger. It must be packed in its own secure metal container.
On services between the Channel Islands and the UK and France a handling charge of 22 per sector is made for each individually packed weapon, and their weight is included in your free luggage allowance. Regulations for the carriage of firearms? With prior notice, Aurigny will transport sporting pistols, rifles and guns, subject to the following provisos: a police check at the departure and arrival airports will verify that all necessary police permits are in order; the weapon must be unloaded, dismantled and enclosed in a suitable lockable case; no ammunition to be stored in the same case as the weapon. Do you carry musical instruments? By prior arrangement with Aurigny, customers may be able to carry musical instruments through security search provided they can be x-ray screened. Musical instruments will be carried as part of your free baggage allowance and in the event of this being exceeded excess baggage charges will be applied.

Do you carry live animals? By prior arrangement, registered guide dogs, hearing dogs and 'service' dogs are able to travel on all services, with the exception of flights to Dinard. By prior arrangement, domestic pets are able to travel on flights between Jersey and Guernsey, Guernsey and Alderney, and Alderney and Southampton on flights operated by Trislander aircraft. Domestic pets areNOT permitted on any UK-Guernsey or Guernsey-UK flights, or flights to/from Dinard Dogs -1 animalper flight (or 2 if from same household), 1 handler per dog, dog charged at applicable fare (child fares may be used where available), owner to provide muzzle and waterproof seat cover (dog travels in the cabin). Small dogs may travel in suitable pet-carrier.
Cats - must travel in waterproof cat box, may travel in cabin (provided no dogs already booked on that flight), charged at applicable fare, or travel in the hold and charged as excess baggage at current rates.
