Information You will need to provide us with the following information:
* Full name * Age * Languages spoken * Name and 24 hour telephone number of the person taking the minor to the airport and the person collecting them on arrival * Relationship between these persons and the minor * Passport number if the minor is travelling on an international flight.
Your responsibility As parents or guardians, you need to be aware that:
*The minor must be accompanied to the Aurigny check-in desk at the departure airport *The accompanying person must remain at the airport until the flight has taken off *The minor must be met on arrival at the destination airport by the correct person *The minor should be made aware of the procedures.
Procedure At the departure airport, the accompanying person will hand the minor to the Aurigny customer service agent, along with a completed Unaccompanied Minor form.
Aurigny will provide UM labels, which must be worn by the UM at all times whilst in the care of the airline.
The minor will be pre-boarded on to the aircraft into the care of the cabin staff who will assist the child during the flight.
In the case of the flight being operated by a Trislander aircraft, the Captain will be informed of their presence and where they are seated.
Once the aircraft lands, the minor will be asked to remain seated until the other passengers have disembarked, or until a member of the ground staff can attend the aircraft.
The cabin staff will then hand the minor into the care of the ground staff for assistance through baggage reclaim.
The ground staff will make positive identification of the parent/guardian using the information on the Unaccompanied Minor form, and accept a signature, before the child is handed over.
Costs The cost of providing this service is a charge per single journey, in addition to the fare paid, details of current charges can be found here. This fee does not apply to flights between the Islands, or between Alderney and Southampton.
Connecting flights Aurigny will not accept unaccompanied minors travelling on flights that connect with other Aurigny flights, i.e. Manchester-Guernsey-Alderney, unless the parent/guardian is able to make their own arrangements for somebody to look after the minor/s whilst they are at the transit airport, and in the event of flight disuption - arrange accommodation for the minor at the transit point. |
