How much luggage am I allowed?
Hold Baggage Allowance On Aurigny Air Service flights is 20 Kgs per passenger, except for flights from Alderney to Southampton & Southampton to Alderney on which the allowance is 15 kgs.
Weight in excess of these allowances may be charged at the current published Excess Baggage rates.
Hold Baggage Allowances for passengers with connecting flights. Passengers connecting to/from other airline flights with "through tickets" (the same ticket shows the Aurigny flight and the other carrier's flight) will be entitled to the baggage allowances shown on the ticket.
Passengers connecting to/from other airline flights without "through tickets" (using separate bookings), travelling within 24 hours of their Aurigny flights arrival/departure, will be granted a connecting baggage allowance equalling the connecting flight baggage allowance for a charge of 9 per sector, up to a maximum weight of 32Kgs, thereafter excess baggage charges will be applied.
Passengers will be required to show proof of connecting flight bookings to obtain the connecting baggage allowance.
Please note that the maximum weight for any single piece of baggage on Aurigny services is 28Kgs.
Excess Baggage Rates Effective 1st July 2008
Regional Services between Guernsey and Jersey / Guernsey and Alderney is 1 per Kg from 21kgs. For services between the UK and Guernsey the excess baggage rate is 6 per Kg from 21Kgs. Between Southampton and Alderney / Guernsey and Dinard the rate is 3.00 per Kg. Infants travelling free of charge or at any designated infant fare do not have a baggage allowance, other than that accompanying passengers are permitted to carry, on their behalf: a carry cot or collapsible pushchair and a reasonable amount of food and drink for the flight. Together these items may weigh up to 12Kgs, any weight over 12Kgs will be subject to excess baggage charges. Please note that this is not an infant luggage allowance, it is specifically for these items only. Collapsible pushchairs will be carried on a limited release basis only (we will not take responsibility for damage in transit). Note: on occasion it has been noted that carrycots are checked-in, ostensibly for the use of the infant, but in fact are completely filled with other items (for example large stocks of food etc.) in this case the carrycot shall be counted as normal checked baggage under the rules stated above.
Students baggage allowance is 40Kgs (on production of a valid student card). 20Kgs is guaranteed to be carried with the passenger on his/her booked flight, with the additional 20Kgs being carried on a space available basis. Note that if the baggage is sent by an alternative flight, carriage is only on an airport to airport basis, the passenger will have to make their own arrangements to collect from the destination airport.
Excess baggage coupons issued by other carriers will not be accepted.
Can I check my baggage through to its final destination if I have a connecting flight with another airline?
No. Aurigny does not have through baggage agreements with any other carriers. Similarly, passengers cannot check baggage in with another airline to be forwarded to an Aurigny flight.
If another carrier does through check-in of your baggage to an Aurigny destination and your baggage fails to arrive at that destination with you, Aurigny will assist you in recovering the bag, but will not pay for it to be delivered to your final destination. Aurigny advises you to specifically request carriers not to through check-in you baggage to Aurigny flights.

Hand luggage security restrictions
Introduction of new liquids policy for all air travellers effective November 6, 2006
The European Union has adopted new security rules that restrict the quantity of liquids, gels and pastes air passengers may carry through airport security search points in cabin bags.
Liquids must be held in individual containers not exceeding 100ml (approximately 3.5 fl. oz).
Limited quantities of liquids, gels and pastes may include: Shampoo
- Creams - Hair gel, hair spay - Suntan lotions - Toothpaste - Liquid or aerosol deodorants - Perfumes - Cosmetics such as mascara and lip gloss - Water and other drinks, soups and syrups - Other items of similar consistancy. All liquid containers must be carried in a separate clear plastic, zip-top or re-sealable bag that does not exceed 20 cm x 20cm (8 inches x 8 inches) or equivalent to one litre capacity.
Items must fit in the bag comfortably and the bag must be completely closed.
At the airport security search, the plastic bag must be removed from the cabin bag and x-ray screened separately.
In addition, customers may now carry musical instruments, subject to prior arrangement with Aurigny (Call Aurigny reservations for details 0871 8710717), through security search provided they can be x-ray screened.
Customers may also carry: * Essential medicines in liquid form sufficient for the flight (e.g. diabetic kit), as long as verified as authentic. * Baby milk and liquid baby food sufficient and essential for the flight (the contents of each bottle or jar must be tasted by the accompanying passenger). All laptops and large electrical items (e.g. large hairdryer) must be removed from the bag and placed in a tray so that such items neither obscure nor are obscured by the bag, during the x-ray process.
Pushchairs, walking aids and wheelchairs are permitted and will be x-ray screened, or manually searched.
Please note that you are likely to be hand searched at security and you may need to remove footwear to be x-rayed.
Our apologies for the disruption this may cause and thank you for your co-operation.
What items cannot be carried as hand baggage? In the interest of passenger security, no sharp or potentially dangerous items may be carried in the aircraft cabin. This list includes such obvious items as scissors, knives etc. Any prohibited items identified on the x-ray or by direct search, will be confiscated by airport security staff.
The following items may NOT be carried under any circumstances - compressed gases, corrosives, explosives, flammable liquids.
Please note any items refused at the security search will not be accepted for checking in as hold luggage once check-in for your flight has closed, this is normally 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.
Please read the "current hand luggage security restrictions" above.
